Chapter 290 Farewell
Chapter 290 Farewell
"You guys are truly the most troublesome class I've ever taught."
In Teacher Colin's office, the old man sitting at the desk rubbed his brow with a headache and looked at the three people in front of him with different expressions.
Just when they had almost dealt with the one who was about to drop out of school, two more people showed up to fight. Colin frowned as he looked at Daniel, who had a bruised face, and then looked at Lilith, who had a calm and unashamed look beside him, and said slowly with a disdainful tone -
"You are a magician after all, do you have to use such a primitive fighting method?"
Daniel's little eyes, swollen so much that they were almost invisible, showed shock - Don't you teachers hide your bias?
Lilith raised the corner of her mouth and smiled brightly, "It doesn't have to be like this, but it's more satisfying this way, and I'll feel better."
"Teacher, she attacked me suddenly! I didn't provoke her at all! Those classmates can testify to that." Daniel looked aggrieved and very angry. Lilith always made her embarrassed in front of those noble ladies.
Colin glared at Lilith again when he heard this.
"Yes, it's me." Lilith admitted generously.
Who made this guy talk so disgustingly? She was her cousin after all. Just listen to what he was saying and spread those vile rumors to her sister. She felt like her ears were dirty. Who else should she beat up if not him?
As Lilith was talking, she couldn't help but tilt her head to look at Angie who was sitting quietly on the other side. Her hair color hadn't changed back to its lovely pink color. But she seemed to have no interest in the lawsuit between Lilith and Daniel. She just quietly nestled in the chair, staring at the floor in front of her.
Angel...seemed to have calmed down all of a sudden, like an adult...Lilith couldn't help but sigh inwardly as she looked at Angel, who had lost her innocent look.
Teacher Colin followed Lilith's gaze, sighed, and gathered the documents in his hand. "The acting principal has signed, but I still want to ask you one more question. Have you made up your mind, Miss Anqi?"
Over the years, except for those who could not return or were expelled for making mistakes, this was the first time he had dealt with a student voluntarily dropping out. Did this kid really understand what he was giving up?
"I've made up my mind, Mr. Colin." Anqi replied without hesitation. "Can I go now?"
Teacher Colin showed a look of pity on his face, and clenched the documents in his hand. "I heard from your housekeeper that you are leaving here to enter the Temple of Light. If... you find that the two sides have different theories about magic elements, don't question them. Just follow their wishes. This way, your life will be easier."
She joined the temple halfway through, and if she continued to question the church's theories, she would probably be ostracized. In more serious cases, she might even be tried as a heretic.
An Qi finally raised her head and saw the concern in the old man's eyes. She couldn't help but feel warm in her eyes. She blinked her eyes quickly, nodded randomly and said "hmm".
"You can come and go freely in Goletia..." Colin looked at the pink-haired girl with red eyes in front of him, feeling like he was looking at a sad little rabbit. His love for her was even stronger, and he couldn't help but add, "You don't have any violation record in Goletia. If in the future you... you are still my student, Goletia Academy will always be open to you."
Angie hardly dared to look at the old man's regretful eyes in front of her. She stood up, took her withdrawal approval letter from Colin, and made a sharp squeak when she pulled out the chair. Everyone in the office couldn't help but look at her, but she didn't give any glances to the people next to her. She opened the door and walked out.
"Teacher, I will not feel at ease until I personally escort my cousin back to Highgarden." Daniel was ready to slip away, but his high-sounding excuse only earned him a sneer from Lilith beside him.
"Go ahead." Colin nodded and let him out.
Then he turned around and looked at Lilith who was still in the office. She seemed to have no regrets and was twisting her body to look at Angel's back as she left resolutely. No one knew what she was thinking.
"Write a self-review, stay on campus for a month on weekends, and publicly apologize to Daniel during the training class." Teacher Colin made the verdict on Lilith.
"Why don't you try to keep her? Maybe she just hasn't figured it out for the moment." Lilith turned her head and didn't react at all to Teacher Colin's punishment. Instead, she asked about Angel with dissatisfaction, which made Colin stunned.
"...After all, I have lived a few more years than you, Lilith." Teacher Colin waved his hand, and the various seals on the table flew into the air, and then lined up and fell into the drawers where they were supposed to be.
"I didn't try to persuade her to stay because I could see that she had thought it through. All we teachers can do is guide her. If she is determined, then we can't influence her. Besides, her family has agreed."
"But... dropping out of school is fine, but why would I go to a place like the Church of Light?" Lilith muttered.
Colin did not answer, because he did not understand what the girl was thinking. He could only sigh and said, "Everyone has their own path to take. Lilith, at least this is her own choice..."
He looked up at the depressed girl in front of him, and realized that she was having difficulty adapting and feeling uneasy about the sudden change in her surroundings. But at his age, he had already accepted the coming and going of friends. This was the norm in a magician's long life, but there was no need to talk about it now. Life should be left to the children to experience on their own. Old guys like them should stop preaching.
"Go ahead, see your classmates off... and write your self-criticism." Colin waved his hand and drove Lilith out.
When Lilith walked out of the castle, she happened to see the Russell family's carriage parked in front of the castle. Angel was holding the hands of her little sisters and was bidding farewell reluctantly.
Lilith and Angel were not close on a daily basis, and they had constant frictions, big and small. At this moment, Lilith did not go over to them, but just stood by and watched quietly.
"Okay Diliya, I should go." Anqi was also a little sad. Although she always disliked this place, it was where she had stayed for several years after all. Seeing her friend's tears, she felt reluctant to leave. But she still pulled her hand away, lifted her skirt and was about to get on the carriage.
"Won't you wait for Catherine?" Lilith couldn't help but speak out as she looked at her decisive look. Although they didn't get along on weekdays, Catherine was still good to her. They always had to say goodbye.
An Qi paused, turned her head and looked at this person whom she hated so much on weekdays. In the past, a single word from her could make her angry, but at this moment, her heart was calm and she said calmly, "She won't come."
"How could that be? Wait a little longer..." Diliya also advised, as if it would be good to keep the companions for a while longer.
However, Anqi did not look at Delia, but just looked at Lilith calmly, "I am of no use to her, so she won't come."
After saying that, he turned and entered the carriage.
