Chapter 716 Bai

Chapter 716 Bai

"Bai!" Zhang Hai roared, rushing forward and embracing the heavily injured Bai.

Bai's face was as pale as paper, and her breathing was so weak it was almost inaudible. Her body swayed precariously, as if she might collapse at any moment.

"Zhang Hai... Lord..." Bai called out with difficulty, her voice weak.

Zhang Hai was filled with grief and self-reproach. He knew that Bai had been seriously injured while protecting him. He activated his Sharingan, his eyes filled with rage and killing intent. He vowed to make those who harmed Bai pay a heavy price!

However, the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were already closing in. Looking at the heavily wounded Haku and the enraged Zhang Hai, they both wore sinister smiles.

"Hahaha! A remnant of the Ice Release clan, someone actually risked their life to protect you!" Muli Jinba laughed wildly.

"Uchiha brat, you have nowhere to run!" Hozuki Chizuki said coldly. "Hand over the information, and we might give you a quick death!"

Zhang Hai held the heavily injured Bai in his arms, his eyes filled with despair. He knew that in his current state, he was no match for the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. He and Bai were in dire straits.

He clenched his teeth, and his chakra surged forth once more. He extended his right hand, a soft green light emanating from his palm—the light of medical ninjutsu. He channeled all his chakra into Haku's body, attempting to heal her.

However, Haku's injuries were too severe, and his chakra was almost depleted. He could only barely keep Haku's heart beating, but he couldn't fully heal her.

"Damn it! I'm running out of chakra!" Zhang Hai roared inwardly.

He knew he had no way out. He had to make a decision.

He glanced at the weak Bai in his arms, his eyes filled with pain. He knew he couldn't let Bai die here.

He abruptly raised his head, his eyes filled with unwavering resolve. He had decided to perish together with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist!

He would use his powerful soul to drag these bastards down to hell with him! He prayed that Bai would survive the explosion.

"Hahaha! Uchiha brat, do you think you still have a chance?!" Hozuki Chizuki laughed wildly.

Just as the Seven Ninja Swordsmen were about to launch their attack, a figure suddenly appeared in front of them!

"Stop!!" Mei Terumi's voice was filled with a mixture of grief and anger.

She rushed all the way and finally arrived here. When she saw Bai, who was seriously injured, and Zhang Hai, who was in dire straits, her heart felt as if it were being torn apart.

However, just as Mei Terumi was about to rush towards the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Genji suddenly appeared behind her and grabbed her.

"Mei Terumi! Calm down!" Genji roared. "You can't go! Going there will only be a pointless death!"

"Master Yuan! Let me go! I need to save him!" Terumi Mei struggled, her eyes filled with tears.

"Mei Terumi! Wake up!" Genji roared, his voice filled with exasperation. "He deceived you! He used you! Is it worth it to save him now?! Are you really going to abandon the entire village for a man who deceived you?!"

Master Yuan's words struck her like a thunderbolt, leaving Terumi Mei stunned. Her mind replayed everything Zhang Hai had said to her, his sweet words echoing in her head. She looked at Zhang Hai, trapped in a desperate situation, then at the enraged Master Yuan. She had to make a choice between love and her village.

Zhang Hai ignored the argument between Yuan Shi and Terumi Mei. He simply put Bai down slowly, then stood up and faced death with equanimity.

He closed his eyes, and images from his past life flashed through his mind. He remembered the helplessness he felt in his past life, and the pain he had endured.

"I...I've done my best..." Zhang Hai murmured to himself. He knew he had done his best. He had given everything for Teacher Baiya and for the S-rank intelligence.

He opened his eyes, a calm smile on his face. That smile carried a hint of relief, and also a hint of madness.

"Come on! Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist!" Zhang Hai roared, his voice filled with boundless pride. "Today, I will show you the true strength of the Uchiha clan!"

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen felt a chill run down their spines as they looked at Zhang Hai's calm smile. They didn't know why Zhang Hai would smile like that, but they sensed a powerful threat emanating from it.

"What exactly does this Uchiha brat want to do?" Juzo Biwa said in a deep voice, subconsciously taking two steps back.

Suigetsu Hozuki also felt a sense of unease. He knew that Zhang Hai's strength far exceeded their expectations. He was able to remain so composed even in dire straits.

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist paused, watching Zhang Hai warily, hesitant to launch an attack. They knew that Zhang Hai definitely had some trump cards up his sleeve.

Seeing the wary looks in the eyes of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Zhang Hai's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. He knew that his smile had successfully intimidated them.

His chakra surged once more, a powerful force gathering within him. He prepared to unleash his final attack, to perish together with the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist!

He knew he had no way out. He had to win!

Just at this critical moment, a hoarse voice, tinged with disdain, suddenly rang out in the stone house.

"Hey! You Uchiha brat, you're really giving me trouble!"

A dark shadow fell like lightning through the hole in the stone roof, accompanied by a powerful aura. The shadow landed, revealing a tall man whose entire body was wrapped in black threads. It was Kakuzu!

Kakuzu glanced at the heavily injured Haku and the desperate Zhang Hai, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes. He then looked at the severely wounded Suigetsu Hozuki, a cold smile playing on his lips.

"Kakuzu?! What are you doing here?!" The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were shocked to see Kakuzu. They hadn't expected a member of Akatsuki to be here.

Zhang Hai was overjoyed to see Kakuzu appear. He knew he was saved!

Ignoring his injuries, he pleaded with Kakuzu, "Lord Kakuzu! You've finally arrived! I was almost killed by these bastards! You must avenge me!"

Kakuzu glanced at Zhang Hai, his eyes filled with disdain. "Don't give me that! I'm not here to clean up your mess! Don't forget, I'm here for a job!" He paused, a hint of threat in his voice, "Don't try to renege on your promise of payment!"
