Chapter 103 The unknown road ahead

When Ruan Jianan finally climbed to the light, he found that it was a narrow exit, outside was a dense forest. Fresh air blew in his face, with the fragrance of grass and trees and the taste of freedom.

Lin Yanan struggled to climb out of the cave, breathing in the fresh air. Her face was covered in dirt, her hair was messy, but her eyes were filled with joy of surviving the catastrophe. She opened her arms, feeling the breeze, as if she wanted to deeply engrave this moment of freedom in her heart.

Cheng Feng and Qin Hao also came out of the cave one after another.

"Finally out!" Cheng Feng shouted excitedly, opening his arms to feel the freedom. A bright smile bloomed on his face, and tears of excitement flashed in his eyes.

However, before they had time to celebrate, dogs barked and shouts were heard in the distance, breaking the brief silence and causing everyone who had just relaxed to fall into panic again.

"Oh no, they are chasing us!" Qin Hao's face suddenly became solemn. His eyes were full of tension and fear, and his body trembled involuntarily.

Everyone looked at each other and ran towards the depths of the forest without hesitation. Their footsteps made a rustling sound on the fallen leaves, breaking the original tranquility of the forest.

The forest was full of thorns, and the branches scratched their clothes and skin, but they ignored the pain and ran desperately. Ruan Jianan held Lin Yanan's hand and led the way. His arms were scratched by thorns, but he didn't notice it at all, just wanted to lead everyone away from danger.

Lin Yanan accidentally tripped over a branch. "Ouch!" She screamed in pain and fell to the ground.

Ruan Jianan quickly helped her up, "Be careful!" His eyes were full of concern and anxiety, and his voice became rapid because of running.

Their footsteps echoed in the forest, startling a flock of birds, which flapped their wings and flew into the sky, as if they were also worried about their fate.

As they ran, they came to a turbulent river. The river was roaring and the waves were hitting the river bank, making a huge noise.

"The river is flowing so fast, can we make it through?" Lin Yanan looked at the river, her heart full of worry. Her voice was trembling, her face was pale, and her eyes revealed the fear of the unknown.

"There's no time to hesitate, we have to cross the river!" Ruan Jianan was the first to step into the river. The water was icy cold and instantly submerged his knees. He gritted his teeth, tried to keep his balance, and moved forward step by step.

Lin Yanan gritted her teeth and followed him into the river. The impact of the river water made it almost impossible for her to stand steadily. She held Ruan Jianan's hand tightly, not daring to relax at all.

Cheng Feng and Qin Hao followed closely behind. The river water reached their waists, making their movements more difficult.

Just as they were about to reach the other side, they suddenly heard gunshots behind them. "Bang! Bang!"

Lin Yanan screamed in fear, "What should I do? They're shooting!"
