Chapter 3: Principles are meant to be broken.
Chapter 3: Principles are meant to be broken.
After eating his fill, Luffy, with his big belly, lay happily on the chair, his face full of joy.
He didn't know how long it had been since he had eaten so much.
This is life!
Seeing this, Kyle smiled slightly.
Now that Luffy has eaten his fill, it's time for him to begin his plan.
At this age, Luffy doesn't have many thoughts; he thinks whoever is good to him is good, making him the easiest person to brainwash.
"Hey! Luffy!"
"Um?!"
Luffy looked over curiously.
Kyle revealed a smile that seemed to be used to coax a child, and began to speak:
"Wouldn't you like to eat this delicious barbecue every day? And not just barbecue, but all sorts of other tasty treats too!"
"You'll see the specifics when you look at those windows!"
Kyle pointed to the various windows in the cafeteria, and following Kyle's gaze, Luffy saw all sorts of food, as well as desserts, drinks, and snacks.
Luffy's eyes widened at the sight of these things; he was drooling again after just finishing his meal, his eyes filled with longing.
He nodded repeatedly and spoke:
"I want to! I want to so badly!!"
"Then the problem is simple. As long as you join the Navy, you can eat whatever you want, and the best part is it's free! You won't have to spend a single Beli!"
"So? Are you tempted?"
Kyle had a faint smile on his lips.
Based on his understanding of Luffy, before being brainwashed by Shanks, he could easily tempt Luffy with food.
And that was indeed the case, as Luffy nodded vigorously.
He bent his knees, jumped onto the table, and shouted:
"I want to join the navy! I want to eat meat and delicious food every day!!"
With a loud shout, countless marines turned their gazes toward him, paused for a moment, and then burst into laughter.
But instead of mocking Luffy for overestimating himself, they laughed and spoke loudly:
"Whose kid are you? You're pretty good, much better than my little brat! I've got my eye on you, you'll definitely make it into the Navy, hahaha..."
"The Navy desperately needs an energetic young man like you. Your determination is admirable, but you're probably too old to join the Navy!"
"Keep it up, and strive to become an excellent navy officer in the future!!"
……
Words of encouragement and support came from the mouths of these sailors.
If Luffy said this in One Piece, he would definitely be greeted with:
Kid, do you even know what it means to be arrogant? You think you can become a pirate? Go home and get some sleep. Pirates aren't for kids like you.
Do you even know what pirates are? You'd probably wet your pants if you saw a knife, wouldn't you?
Such words.
A classic sarcastic opening, triggering Luffy's rebellious nature, followed by him shouting out a line to prove himself:
"I will definitely become a pirate, and I will become the Pirate King!!"
Okay, so these pirates have achieved their goal: they've recruited another potential pirate seed.
But since Kyle is here today, all he can say is that none of these things will happen again, at least not with Luffy.
Meanwhile, Luffy, after being encouraged and acknowledged by everyone, felt a strange emotion welling up inside him.
For Luffy at this age, receiving praise and affirmation from others is the best motivation.
Or rather, almost all children of this age are like this; they feel happy and joyful because of the affirmation of others or their parents.
Because they don't have many ulterior motives, receiving affirmation means they are doing the right thing, which gives them great psychological satisfaction.
Kyle's smile grew even brighter.
Just as he expected, five-year-old Luffy was still too easy to fool.
Oh, wait a minute!
How can you call this a lie?
He's guiding Luffy onto the right path!
Why not be a navy officer? Why choose to be a pirate, fighting and killing, and being chased around every day?
Even though Luffy agreed to join the Navy, Kyle did not hear a notification from the system that the recruitment was successful.
He estimated that Luffy should actually join the Navy, rather than just saying it.
That's easy, I can just find some time tomorrow to go and complete the formalities!
Kyle smiled slightly as he watched Luffy still standing on the table chatting with the many marines.
Looks like the days ahead won't be boring!
-
Time quickly passed to the next day.
Kyle didn't have the habit of dawdling; after breakfast, he took Luffy to the Navy recruitment office.
"You two want to join the Navy?"
Inside the recruitment office, a middle-aged man with the rank of warrant officer looked at the two children below and asked with a headache.
"Yes! What's wrong?"
Kyle countered with a question.
Dawson has a bit of a headache. What's wrong?
You two are six and five years old respectively. Which family's children joined the navy so early?
If any other child said that, he would have thrown them out immediately.
But these two won't do.
After a moment of silence, Dawson carefully chose his words and spoke:
"In principle, the Navy does not recruit child soldiers!"
Dawson's words were actually a polite refusal, but Kyle seemed not to understand his meaning and said calmly:
"You said it yourself, it's a matter of principle. Principles can be broken occasionally, it's not a big deal!"
"this……"
Dawson was still a little hesitant.
Seeing this, Kyle's expression remained unchanged, and he spoke calmly:
"We joined the Navy with Vice Admiral Garp's approval. Since you, Uncle, don't agree, there's nothing we can do but tell Vice Admiral Garp the truth!"
After saying that, Kyle turned to leave.
"etc!"
Dawson's voice rang out.
"You mean Vice Admiral Garp wanted you two to join the Navy?"
"right!"
Kyle nodded without any hesitation.
"Hahaha!"
"You should have said so earlier! Why didn't you say so sooner? Things would have been simpler if you had just told me!"
"Since it's Vice Admiral Garp's order, of course we must carry it out!"
"I'll process the paperwork for you two right now!"
Before long, Dawson returned, carrying a stack of uniforms.
Now that Garp has brought it out, things are naturally simple.
At the same time, a system notification sounded in Kyle's mind.
[Congratulations, host, on successfully recruiting Wang Luffy! The reward has been sent to your system space, and you can check it at any time!]
! !
A glint of light flashed in Kyle's eyes.
The thought of those rewards filled Kyle with excitement, and a joyful expression unconsciously spread across his face.
After six years, he has finally made it!
In this vibrant and colorful world, he finally has the potential to leave a significant mark.
While potential doesn't equate to ability, it's only a matter of time before Kyle achieves it.
Having a system in place gives him ample confidence in himself.
Without the system, he might have lived a quiet and uneventful life.
But you're holding back because you have a system? Are you kidding me?!
Dawson approached the two men, separated the navy uniforms in his hands, and handed two sets to Kyle and Luffy respectively.
