Chapter 47 Patents
Chapter 47 Patents
Lin Zhou stepped out of the workshop, breathing in the fresh air. The air in Yuanlang still carried a hint of rural freshness. Standing outside the workshop, Lin Zhou's brow finally relaxed, easing some of his fatigue. Since deciding to produce air fryers, he had felt constantly busy.
"Boss, all the equipment has been debugged, and the product qualification rate during the trial run has reached 98%." Engineer Wang walked over, wiping the sweat from his forehead, his tone full of admiration. In the past few days, he had personally witnessed Lin Zhou's professionalism and hard work. This young man not only understood the technology, but also worked with them through the night to meet the deadline, without any airs of a boss.
Lin Zhou nodded and patted him on the shoulder: "Thank you all for your hard work. Next, we will proceed with production according to the established process, and we must ensure the quality is up to standard." After giving instructions on the follow-up matters, he glanced at his watch, remembered his agreement with Zhao Jianjun, and then turned and walked out of the factory.
In the parking lot outside the factory, the Mustang sedan sat quietly. Lin Zhou opened the car door, got in, started the engine, and drove towards Zhonghua Security's warehouse. The car drove on the bumpy dirt road, kicking up a cloud of dust.
More than half an hour later, Lin Zhou arrived at Zhonghua Security's warehouse. It was originally an abandoned warehouse, which Lin Zhou rented and tidied up to become Zhonghua Security's temporary base. From a distance, dozens of men could be seen training in the open space, with boxing and fighting exploding in a powerful atmosphere.
Lin Zhou parked his car in front of the warehouse. Zhao Jianjun quickly noticed him, immediately stopped training, and hurried over: "Boss, what brings you here?"
"I've come to tell you something." Lin Zhou got out of the car with a smile, his gaze sweeping over the security guards who were resting. "I've reserved three or four dorm rooms for you at the factory in Yuen Long. They're all ready and much better than here."
Zhao Jianjun's eyes lit up, and a look of joy appeared on his face: "Really? That's great! It's really inconvenient for the brothers to be crammed into this warehouse."
"Not only accommodation, but training grounds have also been prepared for you." Lin Zhou pointed in the direction of the factory. "There are dozens of acres of wasteland next to the factory. I have already had them fenced off with barbed wire. It is flat and spacious inside, enough for your training, and you don't have to worry about disturbing the residents."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Jianjun was even more grateful: "Boss, you've thought of everything! We brothers will definitely train hard from now on and do our best when we receive a mission. We will never let you down." He knew Lin Zhou's plans for Zhonghua Security, and that Lin Zhou not only provided them with stable jobs but also considered their needs in every way. He and his brothers would remember this kindness.
Lin Zhou waved his hand: "We're all on the same side, no need to be so polite." He took out five hundred Hong Kong dollars from his pocket and handed it to Zhao Jianjun. "This is for your moving expenses. Use it to find a car and buy some daily necessities. You can use the rest of the money to have a good meal together. Pack your things in the next few days and move over as soon as possible. Once you're settled, you can start training at the new venue."
Zhao Jianjun took the money and said solemnly, "Don't worry, boss, we will get it done as soon as possible."
"You can arrange the specific moving details yourselves, I won't get involved." Lin Zhou patted his arm. "There are still a lot of things waiting for me to handle at the factory, I'll head back first." After saying that, he turned around, got into his car, started the engine, and drove away from the warehouse.
Watching Lin Zhou's car disappear from sight, Zhao Jianjun gripped the money in his hand, turned around, and shouted to his brothers, "Brothers, Boss Lin has arranged new dormitories and training grounds for us. Take these next few days to settle in. After we move in, give it your all in training! Don't let Mr. Lin down!"
"Okay!" Dozens of security guards responded in unison, their voices loud and clear, full of enthusiasm.
When Lin Zhou drove back to his apartment, it was almost noon. Several days of busy work had left him exhausted. As he opened the door, a familiar sandalwood scent wafted towards him. Lin Zhou had placed a sandalwood tea table in the living room, and now the entire room smelled of it.
He sat down on the sofa, poured himself a glass of water, took a sip, and had just put the glass down when the phone on the table suddenly rang, its sharp ring shattering the silence of the room. Lin Zhou glanced at the phone, somewhat reluctant to move, but hesitated for a moment before answering: "Hello."
"Is this Mr. Lin Zhou?" A slightly magnetic male voice in English came from the other end of the phone, with standard pronunciation and a touch of professional seriousness.
"Yes, that's me. And who are you?" Lin Zhou's heart skipped a beat, and he vaguely guessed what was going on.
"I'm David from Global Patent Agency. The global patents for the air fryer that you entrusted us to apply for have all been approved." David's voice carried a hint of a smile. "Congratulations, Mr. Lin."
Although he had expected it, Lin Zhou still couldn't contain his excitement when he heard the news, and he jumped up from the sofa: "Really? That's great! Thank you for your hard work, Mr. David."
The air fryer patent is crucial to him; it's not only the key to unlocking the global market but also the foundation for his survival in this era. He had been worried about encountering difficulties with the patent approval process, given that global patents involve multiple countries and regions and the procedures are cumbersome. He didn't expect to get a result so quickly.
"It's our pleasure to serve you," David said in his gentle tone. "When would be a convenient time for you to come to our office to complete the remaining procedures and pick up the patent documents?"
Lin Zhou glanced at the sky outside the window, thought for a moment, and said, "Can I go there at nine o'clock tomorrow morning?"
"No problem, I'll be waiting for you tomorrow." David readily agreed. "Do you remember our office address? If you've forgotten, I'll tell you again."
"I remember, 25th Floor, Universal Building, 18 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong, right?" Lin Zhou accurately gave the address, which he had specifically memorized beforehand.
"Yes, this is it," David confirmed. "See you tomorrow, Mr. Lin."
"See you tomorrow, thank you for your help." Lin Zhou hung up the phone, the smile on his face lingering for a long time.
Lin Zhou paced back and forth in the living room, his excitement unstoppable. He finally decided to share the good news with others, but he couldn't decide who to tell. The people at the newspaper? That didn't seem quite right. Zhao Jianjun and his group? He felt they didn't share much in common, and he didn't know anything about patents.
That leaves only the factory workers, but who can we contact? "That's it! Su Wanqing! I need to tell her the good news."
Lin Zhou immediately picked up the phone and called Su Wanqing. At that moment, Su Wanqing was having lunch at home. She had interviewed many people at the market that morning and was looking at materials while eating. When she heard the phone ring, she answered it casually.
"Hello!" Su Wanqing said softly.
"Su Wanqing? It's me, Lin Zhou! My global patent application for the air fryer has been approved!" Lin Zhou exclaimed excitedly. "Haha, we succeeded! With this patent, our product can smoothly enter the global market!"
Su Wanqing was also happy for him, and said with a smile, "That's great! I knew you could do it. You've worked so hard these past few days."
"Yes! Wanqing, you've worked hard too!" Lin Zhou was in a great mood, and even changed how he addressed Su Wanqing.
