Chapter 160 Sharing Writing Experiences
Chapter 160 Sharing Writing Experiences
After everyone sat down, Zhuang Tunan looked at the person above him and realized it really was his father.
Yu Tao leaned closer. "Tu Nan, the third one from the left, why does it look so much like your dad?"
Zhuang Tunan glared at him. "Don't talk, just listen carefully."
This lecture was jointly organized by the Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Writers Association. His father is, after all, a writer who has won the Mao Dun Literature Prize, so it's not surprising that he came here.
Zhuang Chaoying immediately noticed Tu Nan standing and chatting with a female classmate. Could this female classmate be Zhang Wanshu? And sitting next to that girl is Li Jia?
I'll have to ask them properly later.
This girl looks really good, quite attractive, and has good taste. Zhuang Chaoying looked closely and noticed that she even resembled Liu Xiannv.
The host held a microphone. "A warm welcome to Chief Editor Zhang, editor-in-chief of the national daily newspaper supplements."
"Cluck cluck cluck!"
There was applause.
This guy is really good at talking. He talked about creative aspects, mainly art, from stream of consciousness to absurdism.
The absurdist school suits him well, and he could also consider writing some comedy novels in the future.
Then, everyone took turns going up to share.
"Now let's give a warm round of applause to Comrade Zhuang Anhe (pen name), the winner of the first Mao Dun Prize, for sharing his creative experience!"
Zhuang Chaoying stood up and walked to the podium, blew on the microphone, cleared her throat, and glanced at the audience below: "Distinguished leaders and students, hello!"
I feel very honored to be here at Tongji University today to share my creative experiences with everyone. I'd like to start by talking about some of my insights into the creative process.
"Classmates, when I first started writing novels, I had absolutely no idea how to begin. At that time, I was confused and didn't know how to turn the ideas in my mind into concrete words."
He paused slightly. "Everyone should know that the first step in writing is to overcome inner fear and confusion. How do you overcome it? It's by writing continuously and calming your mind. When you start writing, you'll find that those seemingly elusive ideas slowly transform into clear patterns under your pen."
"Writing is a continuous process of accumulation. Sometimes, we may feel that our writing is not good enough and doubt our abilities. But never give up, believe in yourself, believe in your creative potential..."
Zhuang Chaoying rambled on and on, and the students below the stage listened intently, nodding incessantly.
Zhuang Tunan was completely absorbed by his father's words, not even blinking. This was the first time he had ever seen his father share his insights on literary creation so earnestly on stage.
Zhuang Tunan was completely absorbed in his father's story.
I only just realized that his father has a unique charm in literary creation.
This charm is not only reflected in his works, but also in his love for literature and his dedication to creation.
Seeing his father speaking on stage with great enthusiasm, every movement and expression conveying his passion for literature.
Zhuang Tunan was incredibly excited and proud. He wanted to shout to his classmates that the person on stage was his dad, his dad!
It would be great if his mother were here too.
The discussion lasted for two and a half hours. Students without seats stood for two and a half hours, but they all felt that standing for those three hours was worth it.
The host stepped forward again: "Today's symposium has come to an end. Thank you to the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Writers Association for organizing this symposium. Thank you to Editor-in-Chief Zhang of the National Daily, and Chairman Wang of the Writers Association, along with twelve other well-known writers!"
"Clap clap clap!" A round of enthusiastic applause rang out.
Chairman Wang's assistant, Xiao Liu, snapped a few photos from below the stage.
The group walked off the stage.
Chairman Wang walked beside the editor-in-chief, followed by Zhuang Chaoying.
"Editor-in-Chief Zhang, this is your second time visiting Shanghai. We should show you the hospitality of a local."
Editor-in-Chief Zhang nodded and replied, "Chairman Wang, then I shall respectfully accept your offer."
"What are you saying? We're just old friends getting together for a casual meal. Please."
After Chairman Wang finished speaking, his assistant, Xiao Liu, led the way.
Chairman Wang pulled Zhuang Chaoying along, saying, "Xiao Zhuang, come along with us."
"President, I saw my child. I won't be able to attend the dinner today. Please enjoy your meal and drinks with Editor-in-Chief Zhang."
Chairman Wang pointed at Zhuang Chaoying: "Hey kid, hurry up and go. Isn't that young man behind you Tu Nan?"
Zhuang Chaoying turned around and nodded: "Yes, Chairman Wang, I'll go then."
"Go."
After saying that, Chairman Wang quickly took a few steps to catch up with the main group.
Zhuang Tunan quickly ran over and hugged his father, saying, "Dad, you're absolutely right! How come I never realized you were so talented before!"
Zhuang Chaoying patted his son on the back: "You're only now realizing how capable your dad is? Okay, let go, there are so many people watching."
At this moment, Zhang Wanshu stood at the entrance of the auditorium, watching from afar as Zhuang Tunan and a writer who had just given a lecture acted intimately together.
Li Jia linked arms with her: "Wanshu, does Zhuang Tunan from our class know the author of that Mao Dun Prize?"
Zhang Wanshu shook her head. She and Zhuang Tunan were just ordinary classmates, and she didn't know anything about him: "I don't know. I've never heard Zhuang Tunan mention it. Let's hurry up. The cafeteria must be crowded now. Let's get in line quickly!"
Li Jia nodded: "Let's go!"
Zhang Wanshu and Li Jia are classmates and roommates. One is the class monitor and the other is the secretary of the Youth League branch. They often help the teacher with chores together.
Zhang Wanshu looked back at Zhuang Tunan again, thinking that his relationship with that writer must be unusual.
"Wanshu, what are you looking at? Let's go!"
"Didn't see anything."
As Zhang Wanshu spoke, she and Li Jia walked quickly toward the cafeteria.
The father and son walked slowly along the road to the school gate.
Zhuang Chao asked with curiosity, "Tu Nan, Pengfei and Xiaoting said that you and a female classmate went to pick up the three of them."
Zhuang Tunan helped his father carry his luggage bag and listened to him talk about what Pengfei and Xiaoting had mentioned.
Zhuang Tunan: "Those three big mouths, Dad and Zhang Wanshu are just ordinary classmates. We just happened to run into each other that day. I didn't have any money or student ID with me at the time, and I thought it would be good to have another person to help, so I asked her to come with me."
Zhuang Chaoying's lips curled up slightly, revealing a smile: "Oh, oh! That young lady seems nice, and she's pretty too. Dad thinks she's good."
Zhuang Tunan scratched his head awkwardly and hurriedly explained, "Dad, what are you thinking? He's just an ordinary classmate."
Zhuang Chaoying smiled and patted his son on the shoulder: "Dad understands. Campus romances often start as ordinary classmates. You're a boy, so if you like someone, you should boldly pursue them. You'll never know if you can succeed if you don't try. But remember, it's normal for you to make friends now that you're older, but you must respect girls. Don't do anything out of line before you get married, as that's bad for a girl's reputation, understand?"
