Magical Journey: The Other Shore Blooms on the Other Shore

Chapter 152 Eliminating the Curse

Chapter 152 Eliminating the Curse

“A pair of tomb spider eyeballs, three sulfur mints…” Elena carefully added the magical materials into the crucible.

She was increasingly alarmed. These were all highly poisonous materials. Wouldn't mixing them together produce a top-grade poison? Although she had some doubts, she didn't slow down her movements.

With her methodical control of the heat and stirring frequency, a bottle of pure black potion was ready in about half an hour.

This is the potion that Jean mentioned for lifting part of the curse on Emnessia.

But just looking at it makes one feel that it is an ominous object.

"Qin, are you sure this stuff is safe to drink?" Elena asked in a low voice.

“If you control the heat correctly, it won’t be poisonous,” Qin said.

"Now that you've said that, I'm not so confident anymore," Elena said. Although she was very steady when concocting medicine, she couldn't make any guarantees when it came to lives.

Elena took out a drop of the potion and then cast a spell to analyze its toxicity.

The final result was that it was non-toxic—but that only meant it wouldn't kill anyone; whether it was harmless or not is hard to say.

But seeing Qin's confident demeanor, Elena handed the potion to Emnycia.

"Is this the potion?" Emnessia took the potion from Elena's hand. The bottle of potion was really not pretty, but she only hesitated for a moment before drinking it all in one gulp.

After receiving their payment and purchasing the necessary supplies, the group had already left the border town of Albed.

Every morning when she wakes up, Emnessia questions Elena and Jean about who they are, and the latter two point to the diary next to her.

After reading the diary in Emnicia, she naturally believed it all.

From this perspective, she really is an optimist.

"How is it?" Elena asked.

“It tastes awful,” Amnesia said.

"I'm not asking how you felt when you drank the potion," Elena muttered—what kind of potion is sweet? Sweet things are usually poisonous, and good medicine tastes bitter, okay?

“I don’t feel anything,” Emnicia said.

Just then, she suddenly felt her stomach churning violently.

"Excuse me." Emnicia ran off like the wind towards the hotel bathroom.

"Jin, you didn't concoct a laxative, did you? It's working pretty well." Elena watched Emnicia rush out the door. "It's just that this laxative is a bit expensive."

“If you drink it, you might die,” Qin said calmly.

"Huh? Isn't it supposed to be non-toxic?" Elena said.

“Who says only poisonous things can kill people?” Qin said. “The underlying principles are complex, but what she’s doing now is normal.”

When Amuncia returned, she looked noticeably haggard.

"I'm alright," Elena asked with concern, not wanting the medicine she had prepared to harm anyone.

“At least I’m still alive,” Amuncia said. “Hopefully, when I wake up tomorrow, I won’t have forgotten any of this.”

"Didn't you suspect at all that we gave you fake medicine?" Qin asked thoughtfully. "Or rather, if we wanted to harm you, did you consider the consequences?"

“You have no reason to harm me—if you wanted to harm me, why use this method? There are countless ways to harm me,” Emnicia said. “For example, taking my knife away every night. And even if we take a step back, I could never be a match for a witch in a direct confrontation.”

What she said made a lot of sense and evidence, at least proving that she wasn't a complete idiot who knew nothing.

But relying solely on these qualities to unconditionally trust others only makes someone slightly smarter than a fool.

If she had encountered some shrewd con artists, she might have already been sold into a brothel.

Or they might be imprisoned in some unknown place as slaves.

So, she was really lucky.

……

The next morning, Elena went to wake up Emnicia in the next room, as usual.

Even Jean couldn't guarantee that the potion would work, so Elena was prepared to explain her identity to Emnessia.

But after knocking on the door for a long time, they found that Amysia did not respond.

This is very unusual; she would usually respond at this time.

Could it be that the potion caused something to happen to her body?

Although it was a bit underhanded, Elena immediately took emergency measures, casting a spell to pass through the door—a door made of materials that weren't particularly magical, which was practically useless against a witch.

As soon as I entered, Irena saw Amysia sprawled out on the bed, fast asleep.

That's a terrible sleeping posture...

Irene breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the potion had probably helped her sleep better.

“Get up, Emnessia,” Elena said.

"Strawberry milk...hehehe..." Emnicia seemed to still be dreaming.

You have such good sleep quality.

Elena played a little prank on her, casting a spell to create a nasal plug to block her nose.

Shortly afterward, Amnesia struggled violently and then opened her eyes.

"You audacious monster!" Amuncia jumped up, instinctively wanting to draw her sword and slash, but found that her sword was still lying next to the bed—who sleeps with a sword hanging on their back?

“Irena?” Emnicia scratched her head awkwardly after recognizing the other person. “I wasn’t saying you’re a monster.”

"You still remember me?" Elena asked with a smile.

“Oh—yeah—really.” Emnicia said belatedly, “It really is. I actually remember what happened yesterday, even though I only knew about it from my diary the day before yesterday. This feeling is completely different.”

“That way, even without your past memories, you can probably still live a good life,” Elena said.

After all, people who lose their memory every day can hardly take care of themselves.

“No—I feel like there’s something very important I haven’t done. And I’ve already forgotten about it,” Emnicia said. “I have to go back to East no matter what.”

"That's fine, otherwise I'm afraid I'll be working for nothing," Elena said honestly.

She rarely spoke her mind so honestly, probably because Amuncia was the type to say what she thought, and being around someone like that could unconsciously influence her with her words. This wouldn't do; it didn't suit her personality at all.
