Chapter 34: Used as a pretty face but no substance
Chapter 34: Used as a pretty face but no substance
"What, you dare to come any closer? Aren't you afraid of dying?" Han Yi shouted at the top of his lungs.
It's impossible to reason with a suicidal devil. These bandits were not scared off at all. Instead, they howled and raised their weapons to slash wildly at the source of the sound.
Han Yi easily dodged the attack, and only then did the bandits get a clear look at him. He was dressed in a plain white robe, clearly a pretty but useless embroidered pillow.
"Put down your weapons and surrender. I'm afraid I might go too far and kill you!" Han Yi said calmly.
Upon hearing this, the bandits' arrogance instantly flared up, and they glanced at Han Yi with disdain.
"Where did this arrogant and ignorant fool come from!"
Perhaps it was because Han Yi's loose, plain clothes concealed his muscular physique, leading them to mistakenly believe that he was just a naive and inexperienced scholar.
That damned scholar! He used some trick just now and made them lose several brothers. He deserves to die!
"Attack him together and kill him!" the bandit leader ordered.
"Don't come here looking for trouble. I don't cover up if I kill someone," Han Yi shouted again, his voice tinged with impatience. If he weren't afraid of being punished by the old man, he wouldn't bother arguing with these people.
Upon hearing this, the bandits' eyes blazed with fury, and they slowly gathered around.
The bandit leader stood to the side, his eyes slightly narrowed.
"I'd like to see what tricks he has up his sleeve. Men, give this damned fellow a good beating."
Han Yi didn't waste any time. He moved and delivered a powerful punch that struck the first man in the face, sending him flying far away.
After taking down two more, Han Yi broke through the bandits' encirclement and ran away as fast as he could, shouting at the top of his lungs.
"You little brats, you're too green to catch your grandpa. I'm not playing with you anymore!"
Upon hearing this, the bandit leader flew into a rage, jumping up and down and shouting, "If I don't catch this brat today and tear his mouth apart, I'll change my surname!"
After saying that, he led his men and chased after Han Yi.
He has exceptional physical abilities; he runs like a cheetah.
In fact, he had to deliberately control his speed so that he couldn't leave the bandits too far behind, otherwise they would get discouraged and give up the chase.
"What's going on? A bunch of bandits can't even catch up with a scholar like me? You guys are really too weak!" Han Yi ran while looking back, laughing and mocking the bandits behind him. He looked incredibly infuriating.
"You little brat, once we catch you, we'll chop you into eight pieces and throw you into the mountains to feed the wolves!" The bandits chased after them, their faces red with anger, cursing as they ran.
After some probing, Han Yi had a clear understanding of the bandits' strength.
With his strength, dealing with these guys would be a piece of cake.
However, he wasn't in a hurry to make a move. He planned to tease them first and then attack when they were exhausted, which would be effortless.
He didn't want to commit any more killings; he understood the principle of "not doing evil even if it is small."
After running for two or three miles, Han Yi looked back and found that only the bandit leader was still closely following behind, while the other bandits had been left far behind, obviously exhausted and unable to run any further.
He had thought that these idiots would give up after chasing him for a mile or two, but he didn't expect them to be so persistent. They've been following him for two or three miles now, and they're still trailing behind.
"Hey kid, why don't you surrender? Look at your situation later," Han Yi said with a grin to the bandit leader.
Upon hearing this, the bandit leader instinctively turned around and glanced back, which played right into Han Yi's trap.
Han Yi seized the opportunity, turned around suddenly, and moved with the speed of a whirlwind, kicking the bandit leader hard in the chest.
The bandit leader felt an overwhelming force strike him, and like a kite with a broken string, he was sent flying several meters away with a "whoosh" before crashing heavily to the ground with a "bang," raising a cloud of dust.
"Despicable!" The bandit leader struggled to get up, cursing and swearing, his face full of contempt.
"Your strength is not bad; you were actually able to withstand thirty percent of my force!"
Han Yi looked at him with a smile, not giving him a chance. He rushed forward and his fists and feet rained down on the bandit leader's body.
Although he only used three-tenths of his strength, he still managed to make the bandit leader's mouth bleed and make him howl in pain.
Despite the excruciating pain in his body, the bandit leader drew his broadsword from his waist with a "whoosh" and swung it at Han Yi in an attempt to fight back.
Han Yi's attacks were too fast and too fierce; he couldn't defend himself at all and could only keep talking tough while being hit.
"I underestimated you before, you wretched little thief. Wait until my men arrive, and you'll be sorry!" The bandit leader was furious, his eyes wide like copper bells. He was a Qi Refining cultivator at the early stage, yet he was humiliated by a young master whose body showed no spiritual energy fluctuations.
Han Yi pressed forward again, his punches landing squarely, giving the bandit leader no chance to catch his breath.
