Chapter 299 The Founding of the Galactic Empire
Chapter 299 The Founding of the Galactic Empire
"An asteroid is about to approach Maginot."
"Notify the ground to have the orbital cannons destroy it, and leave the rest to Maginot's atmosphere."
Upon receiving the communication, the railgun, like a sleeping behemoth awakened, slowly raised its massive barrel.
The cannon was pointed at an asteroid not far from the Death Star manufacturing plant.
With a loud bang, a dazzling beam of energy shot out like lightning and struck the asteroid directly.
In an instant, the asteroid was torn apart into hundreds of fragments of varying sizes by this powerful energy, scattering like fireworks.
The railgun's control system rapidly monitored the trajectory and speed of the debris to ensure it would not cause any impact on the surface of Maginot.
After confirming that it was safe, the massive railgun slowly retracted into the mountain and disappeared again.
Meanwhile, the two judges of the Republic had already taken advantage of the impact of the asteroid explosion to successfully break free from the asteroid's grasp.
They cleverly used the two larger fragments as cover and silently approached the Death Star factory.
The two judges moved with the agility of ghosts, quickly attaching themselves to the surface of the Death Star factory.
Their current goal is to find the entrance to this manufacturing plant.
The Death Star manufacturing facility was entirely built by the Confederacy, and its design and construction clearly had many flaws.
However, today's situation is somewhat unusual.
The presence of numerous warships near the Death Star manufacturing plant has resulted in an unusually high level of security, far exceeding normal levels.
"I only have one hour of oxygen left!" one of the Republic judges, who was noticeably smaller in stature, said anxiously to the other judge. "Wouldn't it be better to just cut an opening, brother? At this rate, we might just die in space!"
"Be patient, Fifth Sister," the tall figure replied. "You don't want to know the consequences of mission failure."
Just as the two were desperately searching for a suitable entrance, suddenly, a huge warship appeared in their field of vision.
This warship is the RTV-1 Dominion-class Titan warship that Kirsage is aboard; it was built by her personally at an accelerated pace.
This warship is 15 kilometers long and has the shape of a traditional star destroyer. Its upper deck is covered with a dense array of turbine laser cannons, while the sides of the ship have a large number of shuttle pads, making it look quite spectacular.
The success of this experimental ship undoubtedly brought great encouragement and hope to the senators of the Independent System Confederation.
When Kirsar asked all the planets to send representatives, they agreed almost without hesitation.
The Dominion-class Titan warships swaggered into the port of the Death Star factory, as if to display their power and majesty to the world.
The two judges of the Republic naturally took all of this into account.
Even more coincidentally, a Revival-class Star Destroyer was docked nearby.
With this reference point, the Imperial Inquisitors quickly estimated the approximate length of the Dominion-class Titan warship.
“Such a massive warship…” Fifth Sister couldn’t help but sigh, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. “Can we still take revenge? Or rather, can the Republic really defeat such an opponent?”
"Compress your emotions. I don't want to repeat myself." The Republic Judge turned his head. "As long as the Lord remains, our revenge will not end."
In a quiet corner, two judges of the Republic quietly approached the worker who was slacking off.
They acted swiftly and decisively, killing the two workers in an instant.
Then, they quickly took off their workers' clothes, put on the same clothes, and disguised themselves as ordinary workers.
After changing the body, they carefully moved it to a secluded spot and then, without hesitation, threw it into space.
The bodies fall into the dark universe, and the atmosphere of Maginot will erase them, ensuring they are never discovered.
“Our next mission is to steal the Death Star blueprints,” the Republic Judge said in a low voice. “The Republic fleet will attack this place in two days, and we must complete the mission before then.”
Suddenly, he stopped, turned around and stared at Fifth Sister with a stern look in his eyes. "I will keep an eye on you. If you waver in the slightest, I will not show any mercy."
Fifth Sister nodded silently, indicating that she understood. She knew that once they pledged allegiance to the Sith Lord, they would have no way out.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Death Star factory, Kirsarge also noticed the two Republic Inquisitors.
She observed their every move through her psychic abilities, but took no action.
To Kirsarge, these two judges of the Republic were nothing more than two little mice, posing no threat whatsoever.
She never pinned her hopes on the Death Star, because she was capable of creating planet-killers herself.
In her eyes, the Death Star was just an ordinary weapon, and because of its enormous cost, it wasn't even a very useful planet-destroying weapon.
“Dark Jedi Knights… no, they should be Sith apprentices who have just completed their training,” Kirsaj muttered to herself, making an accurate judgment about the identities of the two Republic Inquisitors.
However, she had no intention of stopping them.
Instead, she decided to have them pass some messages on to Palpatine, which might bring her some unexpected benefits.
Just then, representatives from planets of the Independent Galaxy Confederation arrived at the Death Star shipyard one after another.
The starport is filled with all sorts of ships, which come from different planets and represent the characteristics and technological levels of each planet.
With reverence, the representatives from these planets slowly entered a solemn and grand council hall.
The atmosphere in the hall was heavy, as if the fate of the entire universe would be decided here.
Kirsar stood quietly on the platform, with Anakin and Skywalker on either side of her.
The delegates dared not be negligent in the slightest. They quickly found their seats, their movements swift and orderly. Apart from the slight sounds of sitting down and moving around, there was no other noise in the entire parliament hall.
“Everyone is here, Your Majesty,” a Geonosian said respectfully in a soft voice to Kilsaji. Though his voice was not loud, it was clearly audible in the quiet hall.
Kirsa nodded slightly, then glanced around the entire hall.
Just as her gaze swept across the corner, she spotted two Republic judges who had sneaked in.
A slight, almost imperceptible smile appeared on her lips.
"Until today, you may call me by the name of the Sith." Kirsaj's voice, like a booming bell, resounded in everyone's minds. Although the volume was not loud, it was full of majesty and power.
The delegates were slightly startled; they knew this was a warning from Kilsager.
“Afterwards, you may still refer to me as Lord Sith in private,” Kilsazzi continued, her voice echoing in the hall, creating an invisible pressure.
"However, I hope that from now on, you will be able to use your titles when you are at work."
“I did not inform you beforehand, but I believe none of you will object.”
"The Galactic Republic has already proven the weakness and incompetence of republicanism, and I will not follow its old path."
"The parliament will still exist, but I will reign supreme over it."
"Hereby I declare that the Independent Galaxy Confederation has been formally reorganized into the Galactic Empire!"
"And I will be the Emperor of the Stars!"
