Chapter 17 Who is the real green tea b*tch?

As night fell, the weather grew slightly chilly.

Lu He glanced at the weather outside and saw that dark clouds were gathering. She pursed her lips and thought, "Tsk, another manga trope. It always rains when the male lead apologizes."

Looking at that guy standing at the gate, I felt really annoyed.

"He's still outside?" Xia Lan saw Lu He looking out the window again and knew what she was worried about.

"Yeah, you bet, they're still refusing to leave." Lu He's tone was full of disdain. Then, remembering something, she added, "It's about to rain..."

Usually, in situations like this, the female lead would wait for the male lead to get wet, then rush out to hug him, feel sorry for him, and forgive him—it's a self-inflicted injury tactic, right? Lu He clicked her tongue; deep down, she didn't want Xia Lan to put on a show of reconciliation in front of her later.

But she knew that this was an irresistible plot twist.

With a loud crack, thunderclouds rolled across the sky, and a torrential downpour began, as if a celestial river had burst its banks, creating a gaping hole and cascading water.

"What heavy rain..." Xia Lan murmured to herself. Was Acong still outside? She couldn't help but look out the window.

Lu He frowned, her gaze shifting from Xia Lan. She didn't want to see them make up, so she stood up and said, "I'm going back to my room to rest. If you need an umbrella, just ask Justin."

Seemingly sensing something, Xia Lan followed her into the room.

"Hmm?" Hearing footsteps, Lu He turned around, a hint of doubt in her eyes: "What's wrong? Aren't you going to check on Duanmu?"

Xia Lan stubbornly shook her head: "I'm not going. I don't want you to be unhappy..."

"...Me?" Lu He didn't even notice the displeasure on his face, yet she noticed it.

“Sigh, I’m not unhappy,” Lu He sighed. “I’m just tired. It’s okay, you can go.” She didn’t know why she was being hypocritical. In fact, she did care. She was advising her to go see Duanmu, but she didn’t want her to go.

"Really?" Xia Lan's bright eyes blinked gently and innocently. It was as if she believed everything Lu He said.

"Yeah, really, go ahead..." Lu He continued, saying one thing but meaning another. After a few seconds, she couldn't help but swallow and said, "Go back to your room early... I'll wait for you..." She didn't know why she added the last part, but just quietly looked out the window at the person who was soaked to the bone.

"Yes!" Xia Lan's "Yes" was firm and resolute. She nodded vigorously and ran to the door: "Justin, give me two umbrellas."

"Good host!"

Standing in the cold rain, Duanmu Cong felt as still as a pool of ice, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. Did his Lanlan really not want him anymore? He stared intently at the door of the villa.

With a creak, the door opened, and the figure he had been longing for appeared. Duanmu couldn't tell if the water on his face was rain or tears; he only saw the person in his heart walking towards him with an umbrella through the heavy rain.

"Acong!" It was Xia Lan's voice.

"Lanlan!" Duanmu was overjoyed, as if he had received a pardon.

He was about to reach out and hug Xia Lan when all he got in his arms was an umbrella.

Xia Lan shoved the umbrella into his arms: "You should hurry up and go, the rain is too heavy!"

"Lanlan! I won't leave until you forgive me!" He threw down his umbrella, looked at her, and forced a smile, tears welling in his eyes. But the rain was too heavy, and she couldn't see...

Seeing Duanmu throw away the umbrella, Xia Lan exclaimed, "What are you doing!" She quickly bent down to pick it up, but the wind blew the umbrella out of her hand, and she was instantly soaked.

"Lanlan!" Duanmu quickly reached out to shield her from the rain with his body, but Xia Lan only cared about picking up the umbrella on the ground, opening it, and stuffing it directly into Duanmu's hand.

This time, Duanmu Cong didn't dare let go; he held the umbrella firmly over Xia Lan's head.

Xia Lan took a step back, her eyes lowered, and raised the umbrella in her hand: "I have an umbrella... Ah Cong, go back, what's the point of forcing me like this..."

"Lanlan..." He was so heartbroken that he couldn't breathe. The umbrella in his hand slipped again and fell to the ground. He felt dizzy and his body was out of control.

All he could hear was Xia Lan calling his name, but it seemed so far away…

"Justin! Open the door!" Xia Lan rushed in, soaking wet, and cried out urgently, "Xiao Yu! Xiao Yu!"

Lu He was waiting for her to come back inside when she heard her voice sounding like she was about to cry. She hurriedly ran out of the room: "What's wrong?" She looked up and saw that Xia Lan was soaked to the bone. Before she could ask her how she got like this, she was already in a cold sweat.

"Ah Cong has fainted, what should we do? I can't lift him up by myself!" Xia Lan cried anxiously.

Lu He frowned. This man was faking fainting? What a green tea b*tch! "Then let him lie outside..." Anyway, he's the male lead, he won't die.

“Xiaoyu… this will cause trouble. If you won’t help me, I’ll carry him in myself… If you don’t agree to let him in, I’ll take him away…” Xia Lan sobbed, clearly flustered and aggrieved; she was angry.

How could Lu He let her take the male lead away? It would be better for him to stay under her nose. She immediately changed her attitude: "I was just saying that in anger. I'll help you bring him in."

Looking at the torrential rain, Lu He silently groaned; she knew she'd have to take another bath... What bad luck...
