Chapter 101 Exorcism Ritual
Chapter 101 Exorcism Ritual
The temperature was even lower on the third floor, and Qiu Shumin had started to shiver: "I don't want to go in. Can I wait for you here?"
Yang He: "Okay, then you stay here."
Wen Shang glanced at Mi Lan, saw the boy with his head down clutching the hem of his clothes, and said coldly, "Don't go in and cause trouble." After saying that, he turned around and followed Michelle into the master bedroom on the third floor.
There aren't many rooms on the third floor, just two: a study and Cooper's master bedroom.
The room was completely different from the second floor; it was very messy, with overturned furniture on the floor and signs of a fight.
Jiang Lin shone his flashlight on the bed, revealing large patches of black stains that had even spread to the carpet on the floor.
Jiang Lin: "This should be a murder scene."
Yang He nodded: "There are only 15 minutes left, let's hurry up and look for clues!"
Michelle took out his tarot cards and began to pretend to do a divination. Ji Xingyi, knowing Michelle's background, ignored the cross-dressing boy and went to the desk to open the drawers.
"Hey, don't you guys think our team is too safe?" Yang He couldn't help but ask while searching for things. Of the four teams before them, only three people survived. Their six-person team hadn't encountered anything so far, and they felt it was a bit too safe.
"Here's a letter." Ji Xingyi handed the items he had found to Jiang Lin.
Jiang Lin opened the letter and glanced at it. The letter was from a priest named Czech, and the recipient was Cooper's wife, Marianne.
The content states that the Czech priest agreed to Marianna's request for an exorcism, and that the Czech priest would arrive at Cooper's House on Friday of that week to perform the exorcism.
"What did you say?" Yang He snatched the letter and examined it closely, his voice tense. "Why doesn't this letter mention who will be exorcised?"
Jiang Lin: "It's enough to know that demons exist."
Ji Xingyi looked at Jiang Lin: "Want to go to the attic and take a look?"
In the hallway outside the door.
"Are you the only one left on your team?" Qiu Shumin felt cold and uncomfortable, so she went to talk to the boy next to her.
Mi Lan looked at Qiu Shumin, but instead of answering, she asked in a way that was unusual for her: "Are you very scared?"
"To say I'm not afraid is a lie." Qiu Shumin deliberately leaned her back against the wall, constantly on guard against any danger from the darkness: "Who isn't afraid of death? Why would I want to die in this godforsaken place?"
Just as Qiu Shumin finished complaining, the boy suddenly pulled out a knife, which startled her. Then she heard the boy say gently, "Here you go."
Qiu Shumin couldn't help but pat her chest and asked curiously, "Where did you come from?"
The boy shrugged: "I picked it up from the ground."
"Thanks." Qiu Shumin thought for a moment and then took the knife that Mi Lan handed her. If Mi Lan wanted to harm her, they could just do it themselves now that it was just the two of them; there was no need to give her a knife. Having a knife would at least help her defend herself.
However, the moment Qiu Shumin gripped the knife, her originally sharp eyes suddenly became empty, as if her soul had been devoured by an unknown force, losing its luster.
Upon seeing this, the boy's lips curled up slightly, and a wicked smile appeared on his innocent face.
Before long, Jiang Lin and the others came out of the master bedroom. Wen Shang glanced at Mi Lan, and after seeing that the boy was unharmed, he looked away.
"You guys go upstairs, I'll go check the study." Yang He had been a little scared ever since he learned of the existence of the demon, and with only 10 minutes left in the 30-minute time limit, he prepared to sneak over.
Jiang Lin nodded, and then went to the attic with Ji Xingyi and Wen Shang. Michelle went downstairs alone, and after the others found that the NPC was useless, no one paid any attention to him.
The attic door was locked, but Ji Xingyi kicked it open. Inside, a large number of crosses hung, and an iron bed stood in the center of the small attic.
Jiang Lin shone his flashlight on the floor, where he saw remnants of exorcism formations and numerous burnt candles.
"They're performing an exorcism here." After Ji Xingyi finished speaking, he suddenly felt dizzy, and his vision began to blur.
Jiang Lin noticed the man beside her acting strangely and immediately helped Ji Xingyi up: "What's wrong?"
Ji Xingyi shook his head. The cross in front of him appeared as many double images. His body gradually lost strength, and he could only lean on Jiang Lin, panting heavily.
In the study on the third floor, Yang He pretended to rummage through the drawers, preparing to slip away downstairs as soon as the time was up. Suddenly, he heard light shining from behind him. Yang He turned around and saw Qiu Shumin. He breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Yang He had barely exhaled when he was so frightened by what the woman was holding that his limbs stiffened: "You...where did you get this knife?"
Yang He clearly remembered that the knife was left in the kitchen, so how did it end up in Qiu Shumin's hands?
"What are you doing?" Yang He sensed something was wrong and turned to run. But the boy suddenly pulled the study door shut from the outside, right in front of him.
"Damn it!" Yang He didn't have time to curse before he turned around to deal with Qiu Shumin.
The woman's eyes were completely different from before; they were unfamiliar and held a hint of madness as she grinned maliciously at Yang He. Yang He, having experienced several dungeons before, grabbed a vase beside him and smashed it at the woman.
Qiu Shumin's forehead was instantly pierced and blood flowed out, but the woman's figure only swayed slightly before she charged again with the knife.
Yang He dodged to the side and immediately reached out to grab Qiu Shumin's wrists, trying to take the weapon from the woman's hand. However, Qiu Shumin directly slammed her bloodied forehead into Yang He's chin.
As if feeling no pain, the blows continued relentlessly! With a sharp crack, Yang He's jaw was dislocated, blood gushed from his mouth and nose, and his head spun.
Yang He's eyes were filled with terror. The woman gave him no chance to catch his breath and plunged the blade directly into his abdomen.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
Blood pooled together, and Yang He was completely dead, but the woman continued to stab him frantically.
Jiang Lin, who was in the attic, quickly put one of Ji Xingyi's arms around her shoulder, preparing to help the man downstairs, when a huge commotion came from downstairs.
Wen Shang's expression changed, and he rushed downstairs first. Seeing Mi Lan standing in the corridor in a panic, he quickly pulled the boy behind him: "What happened?"
Mi Lan pointed to the study. A woman's maniacal laughter echoed from inside, followed by a slow trickle of bright red blood seeping from under the door.
Jiang Lin then helped Ji Xingyi up to the third floor.
"Run! Qiu Shumin has been possessed!" Wen Shang immediately pulled Mi Lan downstairs.
Ji Xingyi was too heavy, so Jiang Lin couldn't leave quickly. The two escaped to the middle of the stairs when they heard the sound of a door opening behind them. Jiang Lin turned around and saw Qiu Shumin rushing towards them with a knife and a sinister smile.
Jiang Lin quickly pushed Ji Xingyi away, and the blood-stained knife tip passed dangerously between the two of them.
"Jiang Lin!" Ji Xingyi struggled to his feet, and a strange change occurred in his vision. He actually saw a burly Western man attacking the young man with a knife!
