Chapter 97 Robbery? Take me with you?
Chapter 97 Robbery? Take me with you?
After saying goodbye to Elena, the group moved on quickly.
Bronya was still curious about the robot that had just been mentioned.
"Seele, aren't robots supposed to obey humans unconditionally? Why are they hurting humans?"
“Right,” March 7th chimed in. “I remember there’s something about…three laws of robotics?”
"The Three Laws? What are those?" Seele asked, puzzled.
Eve then explained: "The First Law: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm."
"The Second Law: A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings, without prejudice to the First Law."
"The Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence as long as it does not conflict with the First and Second Laws."
"These are the three ironclad rules that Interstellar Peace Corporation has incorporated into the underlying logic of robots."
Eve was also thinking about these things.
When she visited the mechanical settlement before, she noticed something: the robots looked very similar to those of the Interstellar Peace Corporation.
Many of the robot models are similar to those currently used by the Interstellar Peace Corporation.
So Eve immediately went through the database and found that these robots seemed to be models that the Interstellar Peace Corporation had phased out hundreds of years ago.
But why would a model that was phased out by the Interstellar Peace Corporation appear in Yalilo 6?
Since this planet was frozen in ice, it has had no communication with the outside world, and the Interstellar Peace Corporation has no connection to the market here.
Could it be that the company was already here seven hundred years ago, before the cold wave broke out?
Various speculations flashed through Eve's mind.
"Oh right, that's it!"
Upon hearing Eve's explanation, March 7th nodded frantically.
“I’ve never heard of these ironclad rules.” Seele shook her head and sighed.
"Moreover, the situation underground is different now."
"These robots are all under the command of Boss Schwarz, and they control a significant portion of the underworld..."
At this point, Eve asked, "How far are we from the location of the conflict?"
Seele thought for a moment. "It's not far. We just need to take the elevator ahead, and we'll get there."
"The elevator? Is that the one up ahead?" March 7th asked, pointing to the large structure in front of him.
“Yes.” Seele nodded.
"Wait, there are two people ahead." March 7's voice immediately lowered.
"He is a vagrant."
Seeing the two people's attire, Seele recognized them.
"Should we go around them?" March 7th asked.
“No, grab him and question him.” Eve shook her head and snapped her fingers.
Instantly, several vines burst forth from Eve's feet and headed towards the two wanderers.
"Is this elevator broken? Why isn't it responding at all?"
"Why are you still thinking about this piece of junk? Do you want to go down there and become a live target for the robots?"
"But...but if we just leave like this, won't we end up with nothing to show for it?"
"Aren't you stupid? Go rob the miners! I saw it with my own eyes; they've already bagged up some of the earth marrow. It's the perfect opportunity to strike."
"Good, good Lord... Ah!!"
"Holy crap! What is this?"
Before they could finish their discussion, two vines suddenly tapped them on the shoulders.
Vines: Robbery? Take me with you?
"Wait, wait a minute, are you joining too?" a bewildered wanderer asked the vines.
The vines immediately nodded in a human-like manner.
Some of the more irritable homeless people were momentarily stunned.
Huh? You can play it like that?
“Come on, let’s discuss this together,” the dazed homeless man said to another homeless man.
“Oh, oh okay…” The irritable vagrant nodded blankly.
Suddenly, he sensed something was wrong. "Wait! Something's not right...!"
Before the irritable vagrant could finish speaking, they suddenly felt a powerful force pull them away.
After a dizzying moment, Eve and Seele appeared before them.
"Huh? What happened?" The homeless man looked completely bewildered.
"Shameless! They're actually trying to take advantage of the mining team!" Seele looked at them and was immediately furious.
What kind of time is this to be thinking about robbery? None of these homeless people are any good!
“See, Seele? Seele of the Earth Fire!” Another wanderer immediately recognized Seele.
Knowing that he was not someone to be trifled with, he immediately began to beg for mercy.
"Oh dear, Miss Seele, we were wrong, we were wrong. We only thought of robbing because we couldn't make ends meet..."
"You still dare to mention robbery?" Seele immediately kicked them in the butt.
"Tell me, what exactly happened down there?"
"Down...down there...we don't know either! We were too scared to go down, so we're plotting a robbery here," the homeless man said, trembling.
"Sigh...looks like two cowards," March 7th said helplessly.
It seems we can't get anything out of them.
"Um, Miss Seele, please give us this, and we promise you we'll never rob anyone again!"
As the homeless man spoke, he pulled a white, triangular object that resembled a flower petal from his pocket.
"What is this?" Xing looked at the thing curiously.
Eve examined the item carefully, noticing the logo of the Interstellar Peace Corporation on it, and said thoughtfully:
"This looks like... a search robot from Interstellar Peace Corporation."
