Chapter 6 Rescue Operation
Chapter 6 Rescue Operation
"Waaah—waaah—"
The bronze-black train leaped into space and came to a stop beside the Black Tower Space Station.
At that moment, Pam's announcement came over the loudspeaker on the train.
"Attention! Attention! The Black Tower Space Station has arrived! The Black Tower Space Station has arrived! Passengers, please prepare yourselves!"
Eve gracefully rose from the sofa, walked to the center of the carriage, and helped March 7th up, who had once again fallen face-first into the mud.
"Oh, thank you, Sister Eve..." March 7th stood up, supporting her bottom. Before she could even express her gratitude, she noticed Eve holding a pen and notebook, writing something down.
"Hey, what are you writing down! Sister Eve!" March 7th exclaimed anxiously.
"On June 17th, March 7th, I challenged myself for the third time during the train's jump, and for the third time, I fell face-first into the mud."
After writing fluently, Eve quickly closed the notebook and held it high, dodging the hungry tiger pouncing on her on March 7th.
Her clean and efficient movements revealed the splendor of a former goddess of wisdom.
"Sister Eve, give it to us, otherwise it'll be too embarrassing." March 7th glared at Eve with a huff.
“No way, Little March, recording what happens on the train is the job of the train recorder,” Eve teased March7 playfully.
"Ahhh, we can't be so heartless!" March 7th grabbed Eve's sleeve and pleaded.
Just then, the sound of the door opening rang out.
"Alright, Miss Eve, stop teasing Little March. The train has arrived at the station." Himeko's voice came from afar.
Himeko, Walter Yang, and Dan Heng entered the carriage.
"Sister Himeko, she's bullying us!" March 7th complained.
"Alright, little Sanyue, let's get down to business first. I'll talk to her for you later," Himeko said, as if coaxing a child.
"Huh, why do I feel like I'm being brushed off?" A sense of doubt suddenly arose in March 7's mind.
"Please remove the feelings, thank you," Eve said with a slight smile.
"You..." March 7th was speechless.
"Ahem, please be quiet. I just compiled some information about the current situation at the Black Tower Space Station," Himeko said with a light cough.
"To summarize the current situation, the Black Tower Space Station has been invaded by the Antimatter Legion, and the Legion's target should be a star core stored on the space station."
"Another Star Core!" Eve exclaimed excitedly.
After all, devouring the star core is the most efficient way for her to restore her power.
Wait a minute, why do I feel like I'm going down the same old path again?
The Heart of God once...
Eve's expression froze slightly.
“That’s right, so we received a distress signal, but we’re not the only rescue team. The Black Tower’s rescue force is behind us.”
"Really? When will they arrive?" March 7th asked excitedly.
"Um... based on the data, it's estimated to be after 20 system hours," Walter Young said helplessly.
"I see... Well, in the end, we still have to rely on ourselves." March 7th said, his fighting spirit rekindled.
"So, the goals of this mission are, first, to ensure our own safety, second, to ensure the safety of the space station personnel, and finally, if we have the capability, to keep an eye on the star core."
"Alright, that's all for now," Himeko said crisply.
"No problem." Everyone nodded.
"Don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on the star core..." Eve's smile was somewhat dangerous.
"Uh..." Himeko and Weltyan fell silent.
Eve looks a bit dangerous in this state.
"Ahem, let's first determine the personnel going on this rescue mission. Anyone who wants to go, please raise your hand," Walter Young said.
"Uncle Yang, it's us, it's us!" March 7th immediately jumped up and waved.
Eve followed closely behind, raising her hand casually.
Dan Heng also slowly raised his hand.
Walter Young himself raised his hand as well.
The four people on the scene looked at each other, staring at each other with wide eyes.
Seeing this, Himeko sighed helplessly.
"Walter, you're not good enough. We still need you to dock with the space station," Himeko said, rejecting Walter Yang.
“This…” Walter Young felt a pang of disappointment.
"Danheng, the train still needs to be guarded. Those antimatter legions won't just leave the train unattended."
"Also, Pam will be scared too," Himeko said, glancing at the little rabbit still fiddling with the train in the distance.
"Yes, I understand." Dan Heng nodded and lowered his raised hand.
“Then, this rescue operation will depend on Miss Eve and Mitsuki,” Himeko said, looking at the two of them.
"Great! We've been wanting to explore the space station for ages!" March 7 said excitedly.
“Before, they would just come down in a flash and leave in a flash.”
Himeko then said earnestly to Eve beside her, "Keep an eye on Mitsuki and make sure she doesn't get into any trouble."
“Yes, I know.” Eve nodded.
"Then, be careful," Himeko said to the two of them.
"Don't worry, Himeko-neechan," March Seven said, puffing out her chest in assurance.
"Rescue team, move out!"
The two quickly put on their gear, got off the train, and arrived at the space station platform.
Just then, Himeko on the train suddenly sensed that something was wrong.
"Wait, it should be that you tell Mitsuki to keep an eye on Eve!" Himeko suddenly realized.
"Uh... no, that's not right either. These two are evenly matched... Sigh, let's hope it goes smoothly."
Himeko shook her head helplessly.
................
Space station platform.
"So many monsters!" March 7 exclaimed in amazement as he looked at the platform filled with raiders.
She had never seen so many monsters from the antimatter legion.
Previously, they had only encountered scattered soldiers from the outer perimeter of the legion.
Usually, it's only three or four.
But this time it was a dense, dark mass, with at least a hundred raiders.
While they were observing the raiders on March 7th, the raiders on the platform were already eyeing the train, but due to uncertainty, they did not launch a rash attack.
Now, two people have gotten off the train and have instantly become the target of everyone's anger.
The raiders rushed towards the two of them in an instant.
"I, I'll go, Sister Eve, we..."
Before March 7th could finish speaking, Eve smiled slightly and snapped her fingers.
"The Forest Book of the Sages".
Suddenly, an ancient book appeared out of thin air in front of Eve. The book glowed with a green fluorescence, and its deep patterns indicated its antiquity.
"Huh? Where did this book come from?" March 7th asked in surprise.
Eve held the forest book in both hands, and the next moment, even though there was no wind, the pages began to turn wildly.
"Echoes of the Forest".
Eve spoke calmly, and instantly a green magic circle formed out of thin air, from which a huge green beam of light erupted, engulfing the bodies of every raider present.
The raider's movements immediately ceased, its entire body seemingly submerged in a green ocean, quietly and gracefully sinking to the bottom of the sea until it disappeared.
Simply put, they were completely wiped out by the beam of light.
"This, this, this..." March 7th stared at the scene with utter astonishment on her little face.
Good heavens, what just happened? How could her massive antimatter army just vanish like that?
"Little March, let's go." Eve grabbed March 7's hand, who was still in shock, and immediately ran towards the space station.
But before he could run more than a few steps, countless raiders surged up again.
"There are too many of them." March 7th, holding a bow and arrow, prepared for battle.
"This is such a hassle," Eve said, sounding a little impatient.
Just as she was about to activate the Forest Book again, a cyan figure appeared in front of them.
"The cave is ever-changing, a dreamlike wonder."
The wind whistled past their ears, and a flash of blue gun light streaked across the bodies of the raiders.
In an instant, the azure wind shattered the raider's body like a knife.
"Leave this to me, you all get out of here." Dan Heng held his spear and faced the remaining raiders.
"Danheng, we'll help you..."
"OK, the bag's all taken care of. Good luck, I believe in you!"
Without hesitation, Eve covered March 7's mouth and immediately ran away with him.
I'm sure Danheng will be able to handle any minor troubles.
Danheng watched them walk away and sighed helplessly.
He didn't even bother with politeness when he said "Hey!"
"Hoo..." Dan Heng calmed his breathing and once again swung his spear to face the new wave of raiders.
